Welcome to Laughton Junior & Infant School
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement this evening, our school will move to remote learning immediately for all pupils including nursery. Schools will remain open for critical key workers and vulnerable children as required by the Department for Education. We will begin to allocate places to families with 2 critical key workers or in single parent families, if this parent is a critical key worker. If you used the school provision up to 1st June 2020, please send your child to school tomorrow at the normal staggered times. If not, we will be in touch with you during the school day to discuss the situation.
Tomorrow you will be able to access remote learning on our school website. There will be a link below labelled 'Lockdown Jan 2021', that will take you to the relevant year group tabs. We recommend that you also access online learning such as Times Table Rockstars and Spelling Shed. Teachers will begin to post learning on Tapestry and Dojo from Wednesday onwards.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during these difficult times.

I would like to welcome you to Laughton Junior and Infant School and thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Here at Laughton we are committed to providing the best possible education for our children.
We want them to develop key life skills in order for them to be able to face the realities of the world we live in and we want each and every child to reach their full potential whilst having an enjoyable and memorable time at school.
Mrs Claire Hill - Headteacher
We aim to develop the children’s resilience and encourage them to ask questions, solve problems and reflect on their learning. We want to develop inquisitive minds and promote a deeper philosophical level of thinking where everyone’s views are listened to and valued.
Our links with the local community are strong and the positive partnership developed between home and school enables our children to thrive in all areas whilst valuing diversity and promoting mutual respect for each other.
We understand the importance of positive mental health and the need for children to feel happy, safe and secure if they are to grow into confident individuals. As a result of this we work closely with the children, families and outside agencies in order to support in this area.
On behalf of the children, staff and governors I would like to thank you once again for taking the time to visit our website. If you would like any further information or would like to visit our school, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you!
