Rewards

  • Stickers

  • Descriptive praise e.g. “I like that you have used kind hands and feet”

  • Sent for praise to another member of staff

  • Class dojo – earn points for positives. The child who has earned the most during the week can take home the class robot/bear/soft toy

  • Dojos contribute to the house point total

  • Foundation Stage earn house points, these are also added to the house point totals

  • Specific positives communicated to parents/carers via Class Dojo (Y1-6) and via Tapestry (Foundation Stage) 

  • Special mention in assembly and badge

  • Headteacher award

  • Reader of the week (prize of a book)

  • Race to read (prize of book for every 25 reads completed)

 

Dojos – children in Years 1-6 will be awarded dojos for specific positive behaviours. The number in brackets is the number of dojos awarded.

Consequences

  1. Verbal reminder (in private if possible)

  2. 2nd verbal warning

  3. Time out if needed

  4. Name put on board (this can be wiped off)

  5. 2 minutes off breaktime (outside if teacher is on duty) – this breaktime is reflective time with staff to discuss behaviour

  6. Once breaktime done, behaviour resets

  7. Go through above again

  8. Sent to SLT (if not available, needs to be managed in class)

  9. If sent to SLT, the child needs to bring their organiser to be written in (parents to sign once read)

  10. SLT to follow up to parents as soon as possible (if not available class teacher to do this)

  11. Extreme behaviour (verbal or physical assault, homophobic or racist language) may result in an exclusion from school
