Hello, I’m Mrs Davies and together with teaching assistants Miss Dodsworth and Mrs Hobson, I’d like to welcome you to our class and our classroom, which is an exciting, inspiring and happy place to grow and learn.
My special interests are in Science, Music and Reading.
In Year 2 we plan and carry out lots of experiments to enhance our learning. In Music, we learn to play the xylophone as well as singing in harmony. Throughout the year, children in Year 2 also take part in our Race to Read as well as enjoying reading for pleasure each day.
In Year 2 we love to learn. Each term we plan an exciting curriculum based around the children’s interests. We inspire our children throughout the year by planning a visit or visitors to ensure they have first-hand experiences to enrich their learning.
This year our topics include The British Royal Family, Coasts and the Environment and The Ice Age! We are always happy to share our exciting learning so come and visit us!
During the year we also prepare the children for their Key Stage 1 SATs. We practise problem-solving, develop their thinking skills and look at strategies to answer questions. SATs are approached as part of our normal classroom practise so that the children are confident and are able to shine.
If you do have any queries of concerns, please come and speak to us and we will be happy to help.
